Efisio Farris was born in the town of Orosei in Sardinia. Today he owns and operates two restaurants- Arcodoro in Houston and Arcodoro & Pomodoro in Dallas. In his campaign to spread his passion for the Sardinian cuisine, he has written a cookbook "Sweet Myrtle & Bitter Honey" that was published by Rizzoli. He has appeared on the Martha Stewart Show, Food Network, has traveled the country giving demonstrations, and has launched his own specialty import company called GourmetSardinia. Farris has been featured in Gourmet, Cooking Light, Saveur, Food & Wine, La Cucina Italiana, Southern Living, Wine Spectator magazines as well as USA Today, and The New York Times. In June 2008, he was honored by the Republic of Italy, with the title of Cavaliere, a lifetime achievement award for his work promoting Italian culture in America.
