After planning hundreds of wedding celebrations as an ATL bridal consultant, co-Founder, Elaine Slaughter Rakoczy, saw a trend. Her clients were more and more asking for support in the planning of not just the wedding day but for the rehearsal dinner…many had out of town guests they wanted to include in this event and a guest count of more than 50 ppl.
She started RDG with not a lot of capital but a lot of creativity and exuberance for filling a much needed resource. Her experience as a Marketing Communications manager for 13 years with a major telecom company along with her know-how of executing higher end weddings fueled her vision to create the site. RehearsalDinnerGuide is a “win-win” as its goal is 2 fold…to support advertisers who can benefit from group parties as well as provide a much needed resource to help the mother of the groom and engaged couples.
After a successful launch in ATL, RDG has moved into other key US bridal markets such as Dallas, Houston, Orlando, Miami, and NYC to name a few.
Elaine graduated with honors from The Lovett School and spent 2 years at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. She graduated in 1984 from the University of Georgia and resides in a very artistic and family oriented ATL suburb, Decatur, with her husband, Frank, who is her business partner. Both share a love for gardening and entertaining and most especially taking care of their four rescue dogs.
