This credo is embraced and beloved by Sandro Romagnoli, a native Italian and the passionate creative force behind FIGO Pasta’s commitment to welcoming guests and serving them well over 500 combinations of delicious pastas and sauces. From the comfort of eight Atlanta area locations including Howell Mill Road, Little Five Points, Virginia Highland, Decatur, Buckhead, North Point and its newest Peachtree Dunwoody, FIGO feeds the city’s hunger for authentic Italian pasta, served at an incredible value in an inviting atmosphere that feels like an old friend’s warm kitchen. Relaxed and approachable, FIGO invites everyone in Atlanta to “Be Yourself. Be FIGO.” For Milanese teenagers, “Figo” labels the outstanding, truly appreciable or much-loved. The name articulates the dream realized through FIGO Pasta after the long journey of owner Romagnoli. In his home of Certaldo, a small town outside of Florence, Italy, Romagnoli knew he wanted to see the world. But when he moved to London, England, to work in a restaurant, he knew virtually no English. In 1995, while working as an international sales manager for an Italian company and still unconscious of his restaurateur vocation, Romagnoli seized the opportunity to work in Atlanta, Ga., fulfilling his life-long dream of living in the United States. During this period, he reflected on his life, discovering that his best memories were centered around serving and making people happy. With the 2002 opening of the first FIGO Pasta on Collier Road outfitted with a take-out window and few modest stools bellied up to a countertop for those who preferred their pasta unboxed, Romagnoli accomplished his goal of sharing the distinctive Italian dining experience with Atlantans.
